Chicago Bound!

Monday started an eight day marketing trip from Asheville to Chicago. Monday was a bit damp with lots of rain and hail, made the drive a long one.

The first event Oowee is attending is a trade show for promotional products companies. This is our first time displaying our products for this group so it is very exciting. We are promoting our ethically manufactured products made right here in North Carolina. If you can’t buy local, at least buy American made!

Springing into Festival Fun!

They say it is officially spring. The weather may be a little confused, however, we know what time of year it is…FESTIVAL TIME! We kicked off festival season this past weekend in Charlotte, NC at the Ale to the Queen Festival. The guys had a great time drinking beer and posing with the Charlotte Beer Girls.

It is officially fall here in the mountains. Why not celebrate with a nice camping weekend, not to mention the amazing music and beer! Come out to the French Broad Fall Festival in Hot Springs, NC. We made these awesome mason jar sleeves for the festival. Get out there early, they are gonna go quick! Hope to see you there!

French Broad Fall Fest will be held September 27th, 2014 at the beautiful Hot Springs Resort and Spa in Hot Springs, NC. It will be a celebration of fine craft brews from nearly 20 local and regional breweries. Your $75 ticket price includes a 5oz. commemorative souvenir sampling glass, unlimited beer samplings throughout the day in our exclusive Brew Tent, camping, nearly 12 hours of music and a beautiful venue. We will have food vendors as well.

Summer in Asheville!

Ooweeproducts leather koozieFather’s Day is right around the corner, we are wrapping up all of our final orders for those folks who decided to give their Father’s or baby daddy’s awesome leather koozies as gifts. Our town has tons of family events and craft beer events for your summer enjoyment!

The RiverMusic Concert is a great free way to entertain yourself on Friday evenings this summer.  On Sat. mornings, you can  get your yoga and craft beer on downtown at Wicked Weed.  For 45 minutes there is some beginner-friendly yoga followed by a tasting of select Wicked Weed ales. On June 20th, head over to Highland Brewery to check out The Deep Friend Five.

Now it’s time to start thinking about the 4th of July! Hopefully you will be celebrating in your own special way, with your awesome leather koozie in tow, of course! If you need some suggestions, Asheville has a lot going on!

Join in the fun in Pack Square Park with family activities and entertainment, starting at 2 PM. This is SUPER family friendly! The Ultimate Air Dogs will jump throughout the stage at 2, 4, 6 and music entertainment will start at the stage at 4 PM. There will be bouncy houses for the little ones. A $2 wristband allows kids to jump, bounce and race as many times as they’d like. Beer and wine will be available for purchase including local brews and local eats as well if you don’t want to trouble your self with packing tons of food.fireworks

The big fireworks extravaganza begins at 9:30 PM. Free admission.

If your not into that, there are plenty of other options. The Tourist Baseball Games always has fireworks on the 4th. South Asheville, The Grove Park and the Biltmore will be having fireworks too. The town will be decorated with sparkle!

French Broad River Fest

Oowee Products has a busy Spring. May kicks off with the Annual French Broad River Festival! We are super excited about the annual mountain bike race! Oowee will be providing the winners (and biggest loser) with some awesome leather koozies as prizes.French Broad River Fest Bike Race prizes

Then, Oowee hits the windy city! We’re not sure if the folks up near Chicago have ever seen our awesome leather koozies. We will be there all next week and get to finish off the week with the American Beer Classic Festival held at Soldier Field. Should be a great time with a lot or yummy craft beers. There are two sessions, 1pm-5pm and 7pm-11pm! Tons of great breweries will be represented there! We made some special leather pint glass koozies for the city! Hope they like ’em!

french broad 2014 bike raceMay has a lot of awesome events to put on your calendar! To kick off the month is the 17th Annual Spring French Broad Fest. This festival is family friendly and is always a good time! It’s May 2nd-May 4th, 2014 in beautiful Hot Springs, North Carolina! There’s a mountain bike race and river race and these are friendly to all levels of outdoor enthusiasts. Even I would do the bike race because it’s fun and, unlike Gabriel (founder of Oowee) who is a great mnt. biker, I am a total novice! There’s family activities, arts and crafts, and good tunes so get your tickets and get out to Hot Springs!

The next week is LEAF in Black Mountain, NC. This is May 8th -11th. If you haven’t been to LEAF yet, you gotta check it out! It’s super family friendly and has tons of activities for all ages. There is camping for those who want to hunker down and check out of normal life to enjoy a celebration of Spring and the eccentricities of LEAF. The festival will be carrying Oowee Products will have our newest product available with the new LEAF logo branded on our leather koozies with stainless cups and s-biners.

If you can’t make it to LEAF, no worries, there are plenty of other options. On May 10th, The Best Firkin Beer Fest will be going on at Pisgah Brewery in Black Mountain. This festival celebrates artisan, small batch, barrel aged brews from some of the country’s top rated microbreweries. This is a fantastic place to sample some delicious craft beers!  Beer enthusiasts welcome. Come and get your drink on next to brewers and other connoisseurs in the fresh open air of the Blue Ridge Mountains in our lovely state of North Carolina.

On the weekend of the 16th Asheville starts up “Downtown after 5”. This is a free event downtown and has good tunes, craft beers, yummy local food and excellent people watching. Budget and family friendly!

If your into the Spring flowers, the Biltmore has a “Biltmore Blooms” festival that happens May 20th-23rd. After you check out the beautiful gardens stop into the winery or Cedric’s Tavern for a tasty beverage.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

To close out the month of May is Asheville Beer Week! This is a week long event celebrating all things beer from  May 23rd-31st. The last day of the month is Beer City Festival at Packs Square Park in Asheville, NC  complete with craft beers and tunes. This is a super fun festival and a great time of year to visit Asheville!

Ha! As if this area really needs a beer “month”… I think we cheers the craft all year round in Asheville, NC! We’re always up for a reason to celebrate all things beer. Our mountain area is a culture that cares about sustainability and respects quality food and beverage. The craft beer here has raised the standards for  breweries. There are so many great options around Asheville to drink from. The quality craft beers aren’t limited to just the mountains of NC. This March, we’re making new rocks glass sleeves, pint glass sleeves, cans and bottle sleeves! We are working hard to get some exciting “Ready Made” leather sleeves prepared for the World Beer Festival in Raleigh,NC. It’s coming up in just two weeks.  If you’re in the Raleigh/Durham area it would be a fun beer festival to check out! It’s Saturday April 5th in beautiful Moore Square Park, downtown Raleigh. There are two sessions. One is during the day from noon to 4 and then there is an evening session too from 6-10pm. They plan on having tons of craft beers, food trucks and awesome merchandise like Oowee’s leather sleeves.
