They are perfect for coffee, tea, craft beer, whisky or whatever your refreshing beverage is. We have options for the regular mouth Mason Jar and the wide mouth Mason Jar. Father’s Day is right around the corner, we are wrapping up all of our final orders for those folks who decided to give their Father’s or baby daddy’s awesome leather koozies as gifts. Our town has tons of family events and craft beer events for your summer enjoyment!
The RiverMusic Concert is a great free way to entertain yourself on Friday evenings this summer. On Sat. mornings, you can get your yoga and craft beer on downtown at Wicked Weed. For 45 minutes there is some beginner-friendly yoga followed by a tasting of select Wicked Weed ales. On June 20th, head over to Highland Brewery to check out The Deep Friend Five.
Now it’s time to start thinking about the 4th of July! Hopefully you will be celebrating in your own special way, with your awesome leather koozie in tow, of course! If you need some suggestions, Asheville has a lot going on!
Join in the fun in Pack Square Park with family activities and entertainment, starting at 2 PM. This is SUPER family friendly! The Ultimate Air Dogs will jump throughout the stage at 2, 4, 6 and music entertainment will start at the stage at 4 PM. There will be bouncy houses for the little ones. A $2 wristband allows kids to jump, bounce and race as many times as they’d like. Beer and wine will be available for purchase including local brews and local eats as well if you don’t want to trouble your self with packing tons of food.
The big fireworks extravaganza begins at 9:30 PM. Free admission.
If your not into that, there are plenty of other options. The Tourist Baseball Games always has fireworks on the 4th. South Asheville, The Grove Park and the Biltmore will be having fireworks too. The town will be decorated with sparkle!

Father’s Day is just around the corner! I have to admit, I think that mothers and fathers should be celebrated many-a-day and not just on a single designated day. That being said, I was just honored for Mother’s Day and I thoroughly enjoyed the love!
Here’s a little history about Father’s Day:
The day came about in 1910 by daughter, Sonora, who thought that father’s should have a day to be honored as well as mothers. Sonora’s father raised six children as a single parent and she wanted to show her appreciation. Thanks to her efforts, we now know the 3rd Sunday in June to be a nationally recognized day to celebrate fathers!

Hey craft beer drinkers! Oowee Products has some new designs. We have added a new section on our website called Signature Series. There, you will see artists, Phil Cheney and Sean Quigley.
Phil Cheney’s designs are lighthearted in nature. He creates characters that are whimsical and fantastical. He has been working with artistic mediums his whole life. He believes that “the various forms of creativity, such as art and music are the living forms of Love”.
Sean Quigley is currently based out of CA. He has a past with Asheville and spent several years in the area. He is an outsider artist that captures extreme mental states with his unique style. His unconventional ideas and fantastic worlds will keep you coming back for more visual stimulation.

The rate beer group rallied in Asheville this past weekend! It was a great success! Thanks to John Owens and Beau Shine for all their had work and effort! They helped everyone have a rollickin’, good time! Oowee was honored to help sponsor the event by contributing some leather pint glass sleeves for the cause of good craft beer!
The craft beer festivities kicked off with a Meet & Greet at Barley’s offering dinner and special kegs for the beer lovers and connoisseurs. After the Meet and Greet, Brews Cruise ran a shuttle so folks could go to Appalachian Vintner and Thirsty Monk.
On Friday, things started up pretty darn early with a trip out to Oskar Blues at 8:30am! These guys don’t mess around! The group bounced from there to Catawba/French Broad around 10am. Sunny Point and Oyster House were the noon time stops and great places to grab a bite to eat. Sunny Point was kind enough to have some delicious food ready for the RateBeer group. Next breweries in the line up were Pisgah and Wedge and they capped the night with some dinner eats back downtown at Mamacitas.
Okay, so you think whew, that’s a long day of brewery love, right? Well, for these guys it’s just the beginning! On Saturday the action doesn’t start up until 11am… peeps gotta’ be able to sleep in after such an awesome Thursday and Friday! So, after some shut eye, they began with a bang at 11 at Wicked Weed for a tour and some sampling of specially crafted brews. Next on tap was Burial and Green Man; everything was in easy walking distance. The Grand Tasting was from 3-7 which left plenty of room for folks to take their time enjoying the south slope of downtown. That Grand Tasting was located Asheville Music Hall and had a fun array of bottles and kegs!
RateBeer really knows how to put together an eventful few days. Getting all this to come together has got to be a lot of work! All for the love of craft beer!

I got hitched this year, April 20th in fact. I know, I know 4.20. We really didn’t plan that… I promise. We wanted the wedding to be rather low-key. We didn’t have any bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, we just had our nieces proceed down the aisle before me.
Sticking with the low key concept, my fiancé and I decided to have a co-ed bachelor/bachelorette party. Our buddies constructed a local pub crawl for a lovely spring weekend afternoon. It was a perfect way to celebrate tying the knot! We had friends come in from out of town and all our local buddies helped create an awesome vibe for the “Scrawlz Pub Crawl”.
We felt so loved and appreciated that we had to come up with a way to show our gratitude to our buddies. We had personalized 4.20 Scrawls (Scott and Ralz) leather pint glass sleeves made and gave them to all our friends with a pint glass in it ready to be filled.
The day of the bike crawl, Scott and I donned our matching MMJ t-shirts. Yes, we are dorks! We packed up our wedding party gifts so everyone would have a leather pint sleeve to represent our little pub crawl tribe. Everybody loved them!! That was a great way to unite us for the daily activity of libation intake!
We met up with some of our West Asheville peeps on bikes at Sunny Point and headed toward the Wicked Weed. The Weed was the first stop. The rest of our bike crew met us there. Good thing we had a time limit because those beers are so tasty that we could have planted ourselves there for the afternoon. Next stop was Thirsty Monk. That was a nice downtown interlude before pedaling
down to the Wedge. We lingered there for a bit and I could tell we all needed to get a bite to eat. I called the WALK and let them know that there was a group of 20 bikers with a bit of a buzz headed their way for some eats. They treated us great and gave us some highly important alcohol absorbing substance. From there, we headed to my house to enjoy a fire, some tunes and our day of beverage bliss.
We all carried the leather pint sleeves around to all the breweries that day and I am proud to say that those custom leather sleeves are still showing up at parties and on porches. We kept a couple for ourselves, of course, as a little memorabilia from our wedding. I keep one on me at all times. You never know when you might stop for a brew!
